The W4 Summit Trail is the ultimate challenge for any visitor to Oman. This classic 10–11 hour day trek is your journey to the highest point in the entire country. Ascend over 1,000 meters through rugged terrain, rewarded with 360-degree panoramas that span the entire Hajar mountain range and the dramatic 'Grand Canyon of Arabia' below.

- HikeThe W4 Summit Trail: A classic, demanding out-and-back trek. The trail is marked by white, red, and yellow flags, starting near the Al Khateem village. Requires an early morning start to beat the heat and complete the full 20+ km round trip.
- Jebel Shams, The Highest Mountain in Oman. The trail starts from the plateau, ascending the final ridge to the highest point at 3,028 meters.
- DifficultyHard/Demanding. This is an all-day commitment requiring high stamina and excellent physical fitness. The rugged terrain and vertical gain make it a serious, yet accessible, mountaineering challenge.
- SeasonBest Season: October to May. Hiking in these cooler months is essential for managing the heat exposure during this long-duration trek.
